Being a mother is often considered to be one of the most rewarding and fulfilling achievements in a lifetime. When you become a mother, your whole world shifts and your primary focus becomes raising confident, happy and secure children.
Somewhere along this journey, mothers can lose sense of who they are, what they want, and what is important to them. Mothers also often neglect their own wellness as they invest all their time and energy into nurturing their children.
More than ever before, mothers are becoming physically or mentally ill as a result of trying to ‘do and be it all’ for her family; the ‘Superwoman Syndrome’.
But this is more than just mums hitting burnout from the added stress of parenting in today’s society; we’re even starting to see mother suicides in the community – an unfathomable occurrence that fights the second strongest of all human instincts.
With families more geographically dispersed, growing numbers of single mothers, family financial burdens increasing and expectations of mothers to ‘suck it up’ and handle it all, current generations in motherhood are truly struggling like never before.
Wellness-based lifestyle education and coaching for mothers is about working towards women becoming strong, confident and empowered.
